One Billion Stars weaving workshop

Contact us for a Star Weaving Presentation and Workshop at your organisation with founder and artist, Maryann Talia Pau.

Learn about the One Billion Stars project and how your organisation or community can get involved and weave a star (or 2) with founder and artist, Maryann Talia Pau.

One Billion Stars is an international weaving project that invites people to weave one billion stars by 2032 for violence free communities. Created in 2012, after the rape and murder of a local young woman, Maryann decided to teach as many people in her community how to weave an 8 pointed star as symbols of hope, solidarity and community connection. Today, the project continues to bring people together around the world, including Australia, Aotearoa New Zealand, Ireland and the USA. A stunning installation of one million woven stars was created for the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games, displayed in Brisbane City.
